LNK304GN, developed by Power Integrations and part of the LinkSwitch-TN series, is an AC-DC power control IC designed for low-power switching mode power supply (SMPS) applications. With its SMD-8B package, it is suitable for surface-mount (SMD) production and offers compact, mass-production-friendly designs.
The IC operates across the 85 – 265V AC universal input range, efficiently and safely converting mains voltage to DC output. It integrates internally a 700V high-voltage MOSFET, oscillator, ON/OFF control logic, current limiting, thermal protection, and auto-restart protection circuits on a single chip.
Designed as a replacement for capacitive dropper and linear regulator power supplies, the LNK304GN enables creation of modern power supply solutions with higher efficiency, lower heat dissipation, and fewer external components. Additionally, frequency jitter reduces EMI levels, lowering filter costs.
